A total of 154 fine and varied classics passed across the rostrum during a sale full of energy, atmosphere and participation. At the conclusion, some six hours after the first Lot was hammered away, proof of enthusiastic spending by bidders in the hall, on the telephone and on-line came with Historics scoring a resounding sale rate of 70%, again underlining the auctioneer’s consistently high result.
Gross sale revenue was £3.4 million from the 107 consignments passing to new owners, with a record online performance at a shade under £1 million illustrating the growing significance of internet bidding.
Top-lining this sale in terms of value were significant collectable classics from the likes of Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce. Indeed, underlining the customary variety offered by Historics, a total of 43 marques were represented.
