Race Car Designer

Spread the love

You know that you have always secretly wanted to be a sports racing car designer or hoped that it would be something that your children or grandchildren would aspire to.

Now our friends at Revolution Race Cars are giving you, or members of your family, the opportunity to put your skills to the test. They can’t let you design a car yet but you can make a start in that direction by designing the livery (stylised paintwork and decals etc.) of a car.

Design an Art Car for a World Championship weekend

Revolution Race Cars are giving fans the opportunity to design a livery to be featured on one the latest Revolution A-One sports prototype cars.

The winning ‘Art Car’ design will adorn one of the twelve Revolution Race Cars competing at their scheduled support race to the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on August 15th.

The highly advanced and lightweight A-Ones will be part of an action-packed double-header featuring two hours of racing around the demanding Belgian Grand Prix circuit. The Revolution class of the UK Sports Prototype Cup will share a grid with the Dunlop Endurance Championship.

The Revolution A-One is powered by a 380hp Ford V6 and features a Le Mans Prototype style carbon fibre chassis. The advanced aerodynamic package makes it one of the fastest lightweight prototypes on the market.

The winning livery will then be seen in the remaining rounds of the 2020 Sports Prototype Cup, which also features the Radical SR3 Trophy and the newly introduced Open class at the Cup’s UK based events, with a season-closer at the French GP circuit, Le Castellet in November.

Phil Abbott, Managing Director, Revolution Race Cars stated: “The striking lines of the A-One are designed for downforce and speed,  but they also provide a blank canvas for graphic designers to showcase their artistic talents on the world stage”

How to submit your design

To have the chance of having your design fitted to a Revolution Race Car, you will need to submit your idea by uploading it to the comments section of the Revolution Race Car Facebook page or email the design to roger@revolutionracecars.com Your design can be hand-drawn or created using design software, we will judge each entry on artistic merit and creativity. The closing date is May 30th. Line drawings are downloadable below.

An expert panel will then choose the top five designs before they will be posted on the Revolution Race Car Facebook and Instagram pages for a public vote during June to decide the winning design. The votes will be counted and the winner will be contacted with further details. Full terms and conditions can be found here

Start drawing!

Line drawings of both the top and side view can be downloaded below. We’ve also included a gallery of images of existing Revolution A-Ones to inspire you. You will need to leave space for Dunlop stickers on each corner of the car, a number on the nose and sides and a B.R.M logo on the rear wing endplate.
