Part Two – Rally Cars and Vintage Racers

In Part One I shared with you some photos I took of Current Era cars, used for various forms of racing, that were on show at the Race Retro show 2019.

Now I want to share with you some photos that I took of the many Rally Cars and Vintage Racers that were on display –

Rally Cars

Talbot Sunbeam Lotus – The 1980 RAC Rally winning car driven by Henri Toivonen with navigator Paul White. A Talbot Sunbeam Lotus won the 1981 World Rally Championship.

Peugeot 205 T16 Group B, winner of the World Rally Championship in 1985 and 86

Ford RS 200 Group B
Lancia Delta HF Integrale 
Subaru Impreza STi WRC 
Austin 1800 “Landcrab” that nearly was a 1970 World Cup Rally Car. Built by BMC Special Tuning Department. 

Hillman Imp Ex Works Rally car (Hall of Fame)

Opel Manta 400 – Russell Brooks won the 1985 British Rally Championship in one of these.

MG Metro 6R4 Group B

 

Vintage Racers

Riley Ulster Imp one of the successful Riley Team cars in the 1934 Le Mans race  later bought as a 21st Birthday present for Mike Hawthorn (Hall of Fame)

 

1932 Aston Martin Works Car (Hall of Fame)

1925 Bentley 3litre Le Mans entry (Hall of Fame)
1927 Bentley 4 1/2 Litre (Hall of Fame)

1928 Bentley 4 1/2 Litre (Hall of Fame)

1935 Aston Martin Ulster one of only 24 built (Hall of Fame)
